I started running in 2013 after an overnight in the hospital with heart attack symptoms. After being cleared by the doctor, I decided: I’ve always wanted to run…I’m going to try it. I started out at the high school track one quarter lap at a time. The first time I ran a full mile was a milestone.
FAST FORWARD three years and I logged over 30 races. Including the Josh Billings Runaground Race where you BIKE, PADDLE and RUN. I ran the first year. Ran and paddled the second and third years as a Tin Team. I also ran my first official Steel Rail Half Marathon in 2015.
Over the next few years running became a struggle, I was sick a lot, but tried to maintain my workouts in some form or another. I’m trying to get back to running again…but it’s a slow process. Life gets in the way…and so does my depression and weight.
This is my path to wellness.
